Nursery Pig Technician

Job Summary
Assess pig body and health conditions, administer proper treatments, and maintain optimum environmental conditions for the herd. Perform power washing and sanitizing of barns, rooms, and hallways while recording ventilation guidelines. Participate in gruel feeding, mat feeding, and hand feeding activities. Requires fine motor skills for data writing, shot administration, and weighing individual piglets, along with continuous bending, reaching, and crouching for sanitation tasks. Schedule runs from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a minimum of 8 hours daily standing and walking. Comply with all bio-security, safety, and animal welfare policies.
Required Qualifications
- Fine motor skills for writing data, administering treatment shots, and weighing individual piglets
- Continuous bending, reaching, and crouching for power washing and sanitizing
- Frequent kneeling, reaching, and steady balance required for treating piglets
- Continuous walking and standing; a minimum of 8 hours per day
