Nursery Assistant Department Manager

Produce designs for "Plant Your Own" and apply landscape design techniques using plant materials. Operate and maintain equipment such as tow motors and loaders safely. Assign worker duties, schedule breaks and hours, and coordinate departmental inventories. Assist with training meetings, employee training on store policies, and equipment maintenance. Communicate with Buyers regarding merchandising, new product implementation, and pricing. Maintain smooth department operations in the absence of staff or manager. Report performance and training problems to the department manager. Requires previous managerial/retail experience in a nursery and knowledge of plant materials.
