Job Summary
Produce designs for "Plant Your Own," apply landscape design techniques, and operate maintenance equipment like tow motors and loaders safely. Assign worker duties, schedule breaks and hours, and coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, and employee training. Assist with departmental inventories, train staff on store policies and procedures, and communicate with Buyers regarding merchandising and pricing. Maintain smooth department operations during staff absences and report performance issues to the manager. Requires flexible day, evening, and weekend availability with a weekly pay schedule. Previous managerial or retail nursery experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous managerial/retail experience in a nursery preferred.
- A broad base knowledge of plant materials and diagnostic ability of plant problems.
