Job Summary
Weekday Evening Nurse at McCallie School’s Student Health Center provides nursing coverage from 3pm-11pm, Monday-Friday, year-round. Responsibilities include safely dispensing prescription and over-the-counter medications according to orders and standing orders, delivering nursing care/first aid for illnesses and injuries, assisting students in managing chronic conditions, responding to health emergencies on campus, documenting nursing actions, transporting students to appointments, and supporting the school’s mission and Christian heritage. Requires current RN or LPN license in Tennessee (RN highly preferred), CPR/BLS, clinical nursing experience, computer proficiency for web-based documentation, ability to work independently within established protocols, strong interpersonal and communication skills, valid driver’s license, and pediatric or school nursing experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN or LPN license with the state of Tennessee, RN highly preferred
- Current CPR/BLS training
- Experience in clinical nursing practice
- Computer proficiency for web-based documentation
- Ability to work independently according to health center established protocols and procedures under the supervision of the Director of the McCallie Student Health Center and within the scope of nursing practice for the State of Tennessee
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with students and parents, with faculty/staff, and with other members of the Student Health Center staff
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record
- Prior experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred
