Job Summary
Administer medications to assigned residents within certification scope while observing for changes in condition and communicating concerns promptly to nurses. Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, hygiene, and meal assistance, and respond to call lights to identify resident needs. Obtain and record vital signs, maintain clean care areas, and document care accurately in the electronic point-of-care system. Assist with transfers, ambulation, and wheelchair transportation according to individualized care plans, supporting Nurse Tech responsibilities when staffing needs require additional assistance. Full-time day shift at Hillcrest Millard in Omaha, NE.
Required Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Nebraska
- Active Medication Aide certification in Nebraska
- Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant course
- Completion of an approved Medication Aide course
- Basic Life Support CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 45 days of hire
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English
- Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds
- Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and movement as needed
- Must be able to safely assist residents with transfers, ambulation, mobility, and personal care
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
- Must be able to utilize technology, electronic documentation systems, and clinical resources efficiently and effectively
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Med Tech, CNA, Nurse Tech, or similar direct-care role
- Experience working with aging adults in skilled nursing, post-acute care, long-term care, hospital, or a similar setting
- Strong attention to detail with medication administration, documentation, vital signs, and care-plan requirements
- Ability to recognize and promptly report changes in a resident's physical or behavioral condition
- Strong communication skills with residents, families, nurses, and other team members
- A compassionate and respectful approach to personal care
- Strong accountability and dependable follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple resident needs while maintaining safety and accuracy
- A calm, flexible, and professional approach in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Comfort using electronic documentation systems and other healthcare technology
- A team-first attitude and willingness to assist with Nurse Tech responsibilities when needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
