Job Summary
Provide patient care to adult surgical patients requiring post-op recovery on the surgical floor at Mercy Jefferson. Utilize the nursing process to evaluate care effectiveness and coordinate patient care with other departments while maintaining professional accountability. Manage duties for patients undergoing general surgery, bariatric procedures, total joint replacements, fracture repair, and urological interventions. Work nights for 24 hours per week with a premium sign-on bonus of $10,000 for graduates or $13,000 for experienced nurses. Maintain current RN licensure and Basic Life Support certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
