Job Summary
Develop nursing and medical support staff schedules and monitor daily assignments to improve efficiency and productivity. Supervise care provided by nursing staff, ensuring competency and best practice standards while conducting orientation, training, and competency evaluations. Manage large inventories of controlled substances and narcotic records, perform physical counts, and dispense medications in accordance with OASAS protocols. Provide direct nursing care including admission assessments, medication preparation, and specimen collection, while monitoring lab values and responding to medical emergencies. Complete daily and monthly regulatory reporting, assist physicians with client health status changes, and participate in case conferences and ongoing patient assessments. Maintain client record confidentiality and ensure compliance with agency policies.
Required Qualifications
- NYS RN licensure
- BLS certification
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with an Associate's Degree in Nursing
- At least Five (5) years nursing supervisory experience
- 3 years of hospital, substance use or other behavior healthcare supervisory nursing experience
- Proficiency in Phlebotomy and EKG
- Strong time management, writing and communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, develop, train and teach nurses/other clinical discipline providers
- Available to work a flexible schedule and be to work all shifts as needed in response to program and staff needs
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR
- Strong leadership and effective management skills
- Ability to implement and monitor policy and procedure in accordance with agency guidelines
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local law and regulation governing substance use treatment programs
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
