Job Summary
Direct supervision of nursing care and assurance that residents receive identified health care needs. Ensure nursing department policies and procedures are followed by all staff. Serve as person in charge of the entire facility in the absence of senior management. Maintain knowledge of federal and state nursing home regulations, conduct regulatory surveys, and manage resident assessments and recertification. Requires current unencumbered RN license, five years of long-term care experience, and proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Schedule includes Fridays and every other weekend. Required Qualifications
- Current unencumbered RN license
- CPR certification
- Five years of experience in a long-term care facility
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and experience related to the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the elderly
- Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
- Knowledge of current nursing techniques, federal and state nursing home regulations, and experience in regulatory surveys, resident assessments, and recertification
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and other computer skills
- Responsible for the direct supervision of nursing care
- Assures that residents receive the care that has been identified to meet their health care needs
- Ensures that policies and procedures of the nursing department are followed by nursing staff
- Person in charge of the entire facility in the absence of senior management staff
