Job Summary
Provide first-level supervision and evaluation to nursing staff including LPNs, Medical Assistants, and Patient Aides. Prepare assignments across the organization while considering staffing needs and delegate duties to appropriate personnel. Demonstrate expert clinical nursing care as a team member and identify crisis intervention needs through assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation. Develop nursing practices and standards of care while completing annually required training and adhering to zero tolerance for patient abuse. Participate in new employee orientation and success through direct supervision, 90-day evaluations, and goal setting. Follow established regulatory standards and Joint Commission guidelines for safety management and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Current unencumbered LPN license
- RN license preferred
- Maintain BLS certification
- Advanced knowledge of psychiatric, med-surg, and/or primary care nursing
- Demonstrates competence in a range of nursing skills and advanced clinical skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong leadership qualities and supervisory skills
- Seven plus years' experience as an LPN with at least three years in psychiatric nursing
- ADN with five years' experience with at least one year in psychiatric nursing
- BSN with three years' experience with at least one year in psychiatric nursing
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds maximum
- Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- COVID and Influenza vaccinations
