Job Summary
Substitute RN or LVN needed to ensure continuous, smooth operation of school health services during absence of campus clinic staff. Responsibilities include evaluating ill or injured children, communicating with parents, administering First Aid, CPR, or AED as needed, administering medication per state law and district policy, following students’ medical protocols, and complying with FERPA and HIPAA. Requires maintaining confidentiality, completing TEA fingerprinting, and HF district nursing training. Reports to Campus Principal and HR.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid current Texas RN or LVN license
- Current CPR/AED certification required
- Fingerprinting by TEA is required
- HR orientation
- Training by District Nurse is required
- Ability to adapt to any particular situation
- Ability to be flexible to the needs of each particular campus or department
- Ability to comply with written and or oral instructions
- Ability to create an efficient working relationship with other personnel
- Willingness to stand for most hours of the day or sit for extensive periods
- Close and personal relationship with pupils on a daily basis
