Job Summary
Plan and deliver patient care in the Electrophysiology Department, managing patients in the cath lab and vascular interventional radiology population. Coordinate operating schedules and supervise unit activities, including non-RN personnel, while assisting with procedures, scheduling, and training per institutional policy. Manage EP inventories, devices, and disposable supplies, ensuring accurate billing and charging, and perform daily quality assurance checks on radiographic, hemodynamic, and EP equipment. Demonstrate critical skills in cardiac arrhythmias, EP monitoring systems, and invasive cardiac procedures, maintaining aseptic and sterile techniques. Provide radiation safety to all personnel, ensuring proper disposal of sharps and biohazard materials, and troubleshoot equipment issues by placing service calls and maintaining accurate service records. Maintain inventory par levels and ensure medical records are accurately labeled and stored.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut
- BCLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 year's experience in EP/Cath Lab/OR or other sterile procedure area
- Hands on knowledge of IVUS/OCT, Impella, CardioLab, 3D mapping systems (Carto and/or St Jude) and ablation equipment
