Job Summary
Shadow assigned LPNs and RNs during daily nursing activities to observe resident conditions, workflows, communication, and documentation processes. Review vital signs and other resident information under preceptor guidance while assisting with gathering supplies and supporting non-clinical tasks as directed. Maintain resident privacy, confidentiality, and professional conduct by adhering to facility policies, safety procedures, and infection control practices. Participate in learning opportunities to enhance nursing knowledge and professional development while building clinical insight into long-term care nursing practice.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in the PN2 semester of a NYS-approved LPN program
- Strong interest in pursuing a nursing career in long-term care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, dependable, and eager to learn
- Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
