Job Summary

Assess, identify, implement, and evaluate patient care through the nursing process while administering prescribed treatments, medications, and diagnostic tests. Collaborate with other health care providers to formulate care plans, provide education to patients and families, and serve as a resource nurse during orientation. Deliver quality care by addressing patient age, cultural diversity, and spiritual needs while contributing to performance improvement techniques. Maintain physical and emotional well-being to handle lifting up to 50 pounds, maneuvering equipment, and responding to emergencies in a safety-sensitive environment with exposure to infectious body fluids. Requires current Arkansas licensure and a two-week orientation period.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current licensure in the State of Arkansas
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Individualized orientation period of no less than 2 weeks and generally no greater than 3 months
  • Ability to practice nursing as described by the definition: The diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health alterations
  • Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including administering prescribed treatments, medications and diagnostic tests
  • Ability to formulate a plan of care using the problem list
  • Ability to collaborate with other health care providers
  • Ability to provide education to patients and/or significant others
  • Ability to lift and move patients
  • Ability to push carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment
  • Ability to lift or push up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend over to perform certain duties
  • Ability to maneuver throughout halls, stairways, and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies
  • Visual and auditory skills
  • Ability to write and perform computer entry
  • Ability to travel to various departments
  • Ability to wear gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles when exposed to infectious wastes and body fluids
  • Exclusion from employment if actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana
