Job Summary
Implement comprehensive program of health services for campus and provide health services to students. Responsibilities include nursing services (emergency care, medication administration, health screenings), instruction and health education, collaboration with physicians/parents/community, participation in committees, immunization record review, supervising nurse aides, and maintaining clinic records. Requires RN licensure in TX, vision/hearing screening certification, CPR, and at least two years of nursing experience in community health. Work in campus clinic with adherence to district policies and health services regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program
- Valid registered nurse license to practice professional nursing in Texas from the State Board of Nurse Examiners
- Certified by Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening
- CPR Certification
- Two years nursing experience, preferably in community health
- Knowledge of health appraisal to identify student health defects
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to implement policies and procedures
