Job Summary
Provide first aid, emergency care, and routine health assessments for students and staff while administering medications per physician orders. Monitor and manage student health plans for chronic conditions, maintain accurate confidential records, and create documentation for all health encounters. Respond promptly to medical emergencies, coordinate with parents and providers, and educate the community on wellness and disease prevention. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student health needs and ensure compliance with state regulations. Develop individualized healthcare and emergency action plans while monitoring communicable diseases. Full-time, 10-month position with regular hours Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Employment is contingent upon satisfactory state and federal background checks
- Completion of VIRTUS training
- Submission of all required employment documentation
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience in a school nursing setting
- Knowledge of student health regulations and immunization requirements
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to assess medical situations quickly and competently and escalate concerns as needed
