Job Summary

Independent-contractor role for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to perform general medical disability examinations for Veterans. Responsibilities include reviewing medical and military records, gathering and synthesizing clinical evidence, conducting diagnostic testing as required, interviewing Veterans, performing face-to-face examinations, and developing medical opinions regarding the likelihood a Veteran's condition is related to military service. Typical workflow spans exam scheduling, records review, veteran exam completion, and reporting within 24-48 hours of exam. Requires active NP/PA licensure, Master’s in Nursing, and an ADA/OSHA-compliant office; no medications prescribed. Flexible scheduling and malpractice insurance provided; opportunity to earn based on exam volume.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Active and unrestricted license in the state where examinations are performed
  • Own office that is ADA/OSHA compliant
  • Previous disability examination experience (Preferred)
  • License/Certification: APRN, NP, or PA license in the state requested (Required)
