Job Summary
Weekend Nurse Practitioner in Acute Care Surgery & Critical Care provides inpatient coverage for ACS&CC, including rounds, first/second assist in the OR, admissions/transfers, discharges, ED consults, and care coordination. Works with residents, surgeons, nursing staff, and others; participates in hand-offs, education, research and quality initiatives; requires NY licensure, ANCC/AANP certification, BLS/ACLS, ATLS willingness, and 1–2 years in emergency/trauma/acute surgical care. 12-hour weekend shifts with negotiable hours; full-time equivalent position in Albany, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current NYS licensure and national certification (ANCC/AANP)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Willing to audit or ATLS certified
- 1-2 years of experience preferred; experience in emergency, trauma, or acute surgical care is a plus
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
