Job Summary
Provide clinical medicine services and administrative support to F.F. Thompson Hospital Urgent Care patients while ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering a cohesive Thompson identity. Collaborate with office staff and hospital leaders to develop efficient office practices and meet strategic health system goals. Assess patient data reflective of age-specific needs, interpret information to identify requirements, and generate comprehensive patient care records within one business day. Maintain current knowledge of best practices, institute programs for evolving regulatory requirements, and ensure all professional licenses, registrations, and certifications remain up to date. Act in the best interest of the patient, exhibit leadership skills, and actively guard confidential information.
Required Qualifications
- Active NYS certification/registration as a Nurse Practitioner
- BLS
- ACLS
- DEA license
- Able to gain appropriate FFTH privileges
- Graduation from an approved school as a Nurse Practitioner
- Meets continuing education requirements of the applicable discipline board
- Previous experience as a NP particularly in urgent care or emergency medicine
- Previous experience in primary care medicine
- Recognized competence in outpatient clinical medicine
- Demonstrates knowledge necessary to ensure care appropriate to the age of the patient
- Knowledge of recognized best patient care practices in his/her department
- Maintains current knowledge of and ability to institute programs necessary to comply with evolving regulatory requirements
- Consistent excellence in provider-patient and provider-staff communications
- Exhibits leadership skills and professional behavior consistently
- Actively guards confidential and protected information
- Willing to receive feedback from associates and patients/families
- Lives the CARES values at all times
- Generates legible, meaningful, comprehensive and timely (within 1 business day of the date of service) patient care records sufficient for all patient care, regulatory, billing and other uses of the medical record
- Responsible for ensuring all professional licenses, registrations, liability insurance education and renewal requirements and applicable physician certifications are up to date and current as required for employment
- Full time day/evening shifts
- three locations in Canandaigua, Newark and Farmington
Desired Qualifications
- PALS
- Previous experience as a NP preferred particularly in urgent care or emergency medicine
- Previous experience in primary care medicine preferred
