Nurse Practitioner-Surgery: Oncology

Job Summary
Round on the inpatient service daily, performing comprehensive assessments of postoperative patients and new surgical oncology consults. Order tests, consult specialists, and arrange admissions while interpreting diagnostic results and prescribing medications. Execute therapeutic and diagnostic procedures such as drain removal, wound opening, and basic wound care. Collaborate with surgeons, residents, and case managers to ensure smooth transitions from inpatient to outpatient settings and facilitate appropriate oncologic follow-up. Maintain thorough patient records and participate in education, consultation, and research initiatives. Serve as a consistent presence on the multidisciplinary team, assisting in the operating room when needed. Work 5-day 8-hour shifts or 4-day 10-hour shifts at Banner University Medicine Tucson's NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Required Qualifications
- Current Board Certification
- DEA license
- BLS certification
- Graduate degree from an accredited NP/PA program
