Nurse Practitioner-Surgery: Oncology

Round on the inpatient service daily to evaluate postoperative patients and new surgical oncology consults. Order tests, consult specialists, and arrange admissions while performing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures such as drain removal and wound care. Maintain thorough patient records and coordinate care through various channels with surgeons, residents, and nurses. Assist in the operating room when needed and collaborate with case managers to facilitate smooth transitions between hospital and outpatient settings. Ensure appropriate oncologic follow-up with the multidisciplinary team.
