Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive obesity care including direct management of medical and surgical patients, perform therapeutic and diagnostic assessments, and interpret diagnostic tests. Manage medication prescriptions, provide patient education, complete consultations, and track progress through pre and post-operative periods. Evaluate and coach patients on weight management plans while following ordered labs and studies. Function within a collaborative care model supported by experienced bariatric surgeons and the College of Medicine, with potential for diabetes medication management.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to provide excellent patient care by evaluating, tracking, and coaching patient progress through pre and post-operative period, weight management plans, and following ordered labs, tests and studies
- Strong decision-making ability to function in a collaborative care model
- Current, unrestricted Arizona license (or ability to obtain)
- Current prescribing privileges including a DEA license for controlled substances
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Obesity Medicine or Endocrinology
