Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive nursing care, diagnose illness, and perform therapeutic and prescriptive measures for inpatient and outpatient patients within a collaborative practice agreement. Plan and organize care to meet individual patient needs while monitoring cost effectiveness and evaluating research protocols. Formulate plans of care with attending physicians and order diagnostic studies, differentiating findings and following established protocols. Perform complete health histories, physical examinations, and psychosocial assessments. Collaborate with nursing leadership, interdisciplinary teams, and family members to develop therapeutic plans and ensure continuity across home care and other facilities. Provide consultation on therapeutic regimens to nursing staff and participate in developing nursing standards and patient education materials.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration as Professional Nurse in New York
- Registration as Nurse Practitioner in New York
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Certification by ANCC or Board Certification from other specialty organization that certifies Nurse Practitioners in a clinical area of practice
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Registered Nurse License-NYS
- Nurse Practitioner-NYS
- Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the Academy of Pediatrics
Desired Qualifications
- At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of the patient population served
