Job Summary
Provision, coordinate, and assure comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process, diagnosis of illness, and therapeutic measures within a collaborative practice agreement. Plan and organize care to meet individual patient needs while monitoring cost effectiveness and performance indicators. Formulate plans of care with attending physicians and patients, order diagnostic studies, and prescribe medications and therapies per protocols. Evaluate treatment effectiveness, modify plans as needed, and provide consultation to nursing staff on therapeutic regimens. Serve as a clinical expert for peer education, participate in research protocols and quality improvement initiatives, and facilitate continuity of care across the continuum. Maintain current expertise in Sarcoma and Head/Neck Oncology while promoting professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration as Professional Nurse in New York
- Registration as Nurse Practitioner in New York
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Certification by ANCC or Board Certification from other specialty organization that certifies Nurse Practitioners in a clinical area of practice
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Registered Nurse License-NYS
- Nurse Practitioner-NYS
- Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics
Desired Qualifications
- At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of the patient population served
