Job Summary
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and healthcare teams. Administer medications, perform diagnostic tests, and interpret results to guide treatment decisions. Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and wellness strategies. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary. This role requires a recent Family Nurse Practitioner graduate with an unrestricted RN license and National Board Certification, providing hands-on clinical training and structured mentorship within Unity Health Care's mission-driven environment serving underserved communities in Washington, D.C.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program within the last 18 months of start date
- Unrestricted RN license
- Ability to provide credentialing documentation at least 8 weeks prior to start date
- National Board Certification (AANP or ANCC)
- DC APRN license
- DEA
- Strong clinical assessment abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Time management and organizational skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous clinical experience in a healthcare setting
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language
