Job Summary
Provide pre-operative assessment services to surgical care patients in the Pre-Admission Clinic, including diagnosis, assessment, intervention, and follow-up. Conduct patient optimization, appropriate pre-operative testing, and education regarding expectations before and after surgery under the direction of the Pre-Admission Clinic Manager. Collaborate independently and with Anesthesiology and Internal Medicine to plan, implement, and evaluate care based on patient complexity. Requires a Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner degree, CRNS registration, and BCLS certification. Full-time days shift with 28 eight-hour shifts per six weeks. This position will relocate to Market Mall in Fall 2026.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
- Registered/eligible for registration with the CRNS as RN (NP)
- Knowledge in leadership strategies
- Knowledge of common medical conditions and treatments
- Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking
- Knowledge of community programs/services
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Ability to lead/encourage/advise/collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals
- Ability and flexibility in adapting to changing situations and environments
- Previous experience in surgical nursing
