Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate primary health care services for community clients independently and collaboratively with physicians. Deliver health promotion, first-line treatment, emergency services, and supportive counseling while conducting community needs assessments and participating in evaluative projects. Provide disease and injury prevention and manage medical conditions with a focus on holistic care principles. This role operates within an interdisciplinary primary health care team under the direction of the Primary Health Care Manager. The position is based in Indian Head, located approximately 70 km east of Regina, with a requirement for a valid driver's license and vehicle availability.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years experience as a RN in critical care, ER, acute care or primary care
- One year experience in community needs assessment/development/health promotion
- Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP)
- International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
- Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Specialization
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
- Critical thinking skills
- Verbal communication skills
- Leadership skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to and implement change
- Knowledge in health services delivery in primary care and rural settings
- Knowledge in the principles of Population Health Promotion
- Ability to take initiative
- Knowledge of community programs/services

- Knowledge in philosophy and principles of holistic health care
- Knowledge of common medical conditions and treatments
- Registered/eligible for registration with the CRNS as RN (NP)
