Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner position in a behavioral health setting focused on recovery and psychiatric care. The NP coordinates and provides medical/clinical services including engagement, assessment, differential diagnosis, recovery service planning, medication management, education, and discharge planning, using Recovery Coaching to foster recovery partnerships. Requires an active PMHNP credential, current RN and NP licenses (compact preferred), and DEA registration. Responsibilities include prescribing medications, coordinating with external medical/nursing support, ensuring regulatory compliance, supervising clinical documentation, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and participating in credentialing processes. The role offers shift-based hours with required holiday coverage, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional development, within Recovery Innovations’ Bridge Center For Hope in Baton Rouge, LA. Additional duties include travel as needed and adherence to HIPAA and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or above from an accredited School of Nursing with appropriate training as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP)
- PMHNP certification (Psychiatric Mental Health NP)
- DEA registration (valid)
- RN license (current, state-specific) and Nurse Practitioner license (compact licensure preferred)
- Experience in acute psychiatric setting
- Experience and training in addiction treatment preferred
- Credentialing process completion and ability to pass background checks
- Ability to perform essential duties including medication management, clinical documentation, risk assessment, and collaboration with interdisciplinary team
- Facility compliance with licensing and accreditation standards
- Must be able to travel as required by business needs
- Strong communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and other background checks
- Must be 18+ years old (or as per state regulations)
