Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient Urgent Care setting providing both urgent and non-urgent care. Duties include patient histories, physical examinations, establishing diagnoses, ordering labs and referrals, counseling patients and families, supervising medical staff, developing clinic protocols, and maintaining medical education. Requires activate Florida NP license with prescribing/dispensing authority, DOT medical examiner certification, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with a diverse patient population, and flexibility to cover varying hours including evenings/weekends. Includes CE requirements (40 hours per 12 months), documentation of procedures and patient care, and potential travel to multiple office locations. Required Qualifications
- Active FL license as a Nurse Practitioner which includes dispensing of medications, and prescribing of controlled substances
- Certified Medical Examiner of the Department of Transportation
- Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy towards patients
- Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and community
- Able to develop teaching and counseling sessions as needed
- Scheduling flexibility to rotate hours and shifts, and be called during emergencies
- Ability to perform minor procedures such as laceration repair, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, ear irrigation, pelvic exams
