Job Summary
Perform problem-focused, individualized medical assessments and personally examine patients as needed, staying on-site until all patients requiring care are seen. Prescribe medication, including narcotics, within your prescriptive authority while reviewing medical records and signing off on orders. Maintain physical presence at assigned correctional facility(s) and provide 24/7 on-call phone services, including backup calls for other facilities. Document site coverage by logging hours into the online payroll system and comply with facility policies. Attend a minimum of one ACH medical conference annually.
Required Qualifications
- Valid medical license (MD, DO, NP, PA) in the state in which services are to be provided
- Current Board Certification
- Current DEA registration
- Current collaborative agreement, if required by state
- Experience in a primary care specialty, corrections, and/or managed health care delivery
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Hands-on training
