Nurse Practitioner PRN - Psychiatry

Job Summary
Diagnose patient conditions, interview patients about symptoms, and determine if psychiatric disorders have physiological or emotional bases. Screen patients for physical illness, analyze explanations for psychiatric issues, and assess risk factors for mental illness. Provide therapies through individual, group, or family counseling sessions and write prescriptions for psychotropic medications under supervision. Monitor medication use, document treatment results, and intervene for patients experiencing mental crises. Evaluate patient progress, report results to the treatment team, and work with medical professionals to adjust treatment plans. Educate staff and families about mental illness and treatment, while participating in operational assessments for revenue enhancement. This role requires a Master's Degree in Nursing with a Psychiatry emphasis and post-graduate certification. Candidates must hold a South Carolina Nursing License, Controlled Substance license, and Federal DEA license. Full-time positions are available at the Richland Facility, with variable shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree - Nursing; Nurse Practitioner; Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent
- post-graduate education and/or certification in Psychiatry
- 10 years of Psychiatry Staff Nursing experience
- 1 year as a Nurse Practitioner
- South Carolina Official Recognition Nurse Practitioner - NLNP
- Prescriptive Authority
- South Carolina Nursing License
- South Carolina Controlled Substance license
- Federal DEA license
