Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant provides comprehensive primary health care in an Adult Medicine clinic, collaborating with department physicians and referring patients to consultants as appropriate. The incumbent handles medical history taking, condition assessment, and interpretation of findings; maintains clinical documentation; uses electronic health records; and makes evidence-based clinical decisions. Requires graduate of an accredited nursing program or approved NP/PA program, CT licensure (State of CT), and DEA/narcotic registrations. Preference for 1-2 years of ambulatory/urgent care experience. Salary ranges from $135,000 to $161,320 per year. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, and vaccination requirement unless an accommodation is approved. Language preference: Spanish.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Nurse Practitioner program
- State of Connecticut licensure
- DEA and state narcotic registration
- Have or be eligible to obtain DEA and state narcotic registration
- Have a deep knowledge of nursing theory and practice or physician assistant theory and practice
- ability to provide culturally competent care
- skill taking medical history, assessing medical conditions and interpreting findings
- effective communication with patients and stakeholders
- timely, thorough and accurate clinical documentation
- evidence-based clinical decision making
- proficiency with electronic health record systems
- willingness to perform other duties as assigned
- 1-2 years’ experience in ambulatory setting or urgent care preferred
