Job Summary
Provide primary-care services in accordance with site-specific protocols for family medicine, geriatric medicine, and internal medicine in long-term care facilities (skilled nursing and assisted living). Responsibilities include reviewing and signing MARs, signing orders for primary care, addressing labs within 24 hours, managing narcotic prescriptions per policy, and ensuring documentation and billing records are submitted per policy (within 48 hours of service). Maintain open communication with facility staff and administration, meet with the facility care coordinator before start of day and before leaving, adhere to HIPAA and regulatory standards, and consult the clinical supervisor before refusing resident requests. Requires a Masters-level nursing or PA education and active state licensure with relevant board certification; specialization in geriatrics, family medicine, or psychiatry is desired.
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- current and valid license to practice medicine issued by the state of residence
- Physician Assistant program accreditation and national certification (NCCPA)
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the state of residence
- Specialization in geriatric, family, or psychiatry desired
