Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for individual oncology patients while incorporating evidence-based research into clinical practice. Initiate and document appropriate interventions, prescribe drug therapies per protocol, and assist physicians with procedures and pre-visit assessments. Provide patient and family education, promote wellness, and recommend community resources. Complete patient charge tickets, manage reimbursement documentation, and serve as a resource for staff regarding clinical trials. May supervise clinical nursing and support staff, mentor new Advanced Practitioners, and provide case management for clients. Requires a Master's degree in Nursing with a Nurse Practitioner emphasis, one year of nursing experience, and South Carolina licensure with prescriptive authority.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree- Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent
- 1 year- Nursing experience
- NURSE PRACTITIONER - NLNP Specific Acceptable Credentials
- South Carolina Official Recognition Nurse Practitioner
- Prescriptive Authority
- South Carolina Nursing License
- South Carolina Controlled Substance license
- Federal DEA license
- Oncology nursing experience
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment
- Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse
