Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant, Neurosurgery

Outpatient and inpatient neurosurgery APP role involving management of neurosurgical clinic patients, triage and coordination with RN, collaboration with Attending Physicians and residents, and performing procedures within credentialed scope. Responsibilities include history and physicals, imaging orders and interpretation, medication and device management, documentation and billing within 7 days, triage calls, perioperative planning, pre-rounding, presenting patients on rounds, daily notes, and operating-room assistance. Dual NP/PA roles with collaboration, supervision by physicians, and adherence to standardized procedures and quality programs. Core duties include evaluating and treating acute/chronic neurosurgical patients, performing designated procedures (intubation, central line, arterial line, chest tube, PD drain, pacing wire removal), and coordinating inpatient/outpatient care with a focus on safety, quality, and education.
