Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive direct patient care including obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic testing, diagnosing illnesses, and prescribing pharmacological treatments. Provide health maintenance interventions through patient and family education and counseling. Assume accountability for indirect care responsibilities such as staff and student education, clinical research, program development, and quality improvement. Assist in necessary clerical functions while maintaining current registration with the Alabama Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners. Requires BCLS during orientation and proficiency in electronic medical records.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current registration with the Alabama Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners or current Alabama PA license
- Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly
- Must receive BCLS during the orientation period
- Works well with others in a team environment
