Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for CICU at Boston Children’s Hospital. Provide care to infants, children, and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, collaborating with Attending physicians, fellows, and a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include pre- and post-operative care of critically ill cardiac patients, management of ventilators, ECMO, CVVH, and emergency situations; hands-on procedures such as intubation and central lines; participate in CICU rounds, education of staff and families, and ongoing research involvement. Role requires a graduate NP/PA degree, Massachusetts licensure, and offers a sign-on bonus. Schedule is approximately 30 hours per week with day/night rotation, up to every 3rd weekend and some holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- A minimum of 2 years of critical care RN, NP or PA experience
- Demonstrated medical knowledge in cardiopulmonary critical care medicine
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
