Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant needed for 100% outpatient urgent care with AFC Urgent Care. Part-time role (1-2 shifts per week, rotating weekends/holidays), no nights or on-call. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients of all ages in urgent care, managing acute conditions, performing minor procedures (suturing, splinting, incision & drainage), conducting physicals including DOT and employment exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays, EKGs), counseling on care plans, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with supervising physicians. Requires active state licensure (NP with ANCC/AANP or PA with NCCPA) and BLS.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) with an active state license or Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with an active state license
- 2+ years of experience in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care
- Skilled in urgent care procedures and comfortable in a fast-paced clinic
- Active BLS certification required or must be obtained within defined onboarding period
