Job Summary
Conduct clinical evaluations for residents with acute illness or status changes and provide medical services for chronic issues. Order medications, document encounters in the electronic medical record, and address abnormal laboratory results. Make rounds to ensure all residents are seen per shift, provide end-of-shift sign outs, and arrange transfers to acute care facilities as indicated. Assist Employee Health with immunizations and PPD placement, provide Infection Control coverage, and serve as the highest ranking staff member when administrators are absent. Work in a pediatric restorative setting with frequent interruptions, subject to on-call requirements beyond normal hours, at a rate of $90/hour.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- M.S.N.
- NP Certification
- RN and NP in the State of New York
- BCLS certificate
- DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Certification
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) Number
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently
- Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary
Desired Qualifications
- PALS certification
- Experience in pediatric and adolescent chronic and restorative nursing modalities
