Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive direct patient care for pediatric patients, including obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, diagnosing illnesses, and prescribing pharmacological treatments. Provide health maintenance and promotion interventions through patient and family education and counseling. Assume accountability for indirect care responsibilities such as staff and student education, clinical research, program development, and quality improvement. Requires a Master's in Nursing, current Alabama nursing board registration, and credentialing approval with preferred pediatric NP certification and three years of pediatric RN or CRNP experience.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Nurse Practitioner Master's of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university
- Successful completion of a National Certification Exam for NP
- Current registration through the Alabama board of Nursing
- Current registration through the Board of Medical Examiners
- Approval of the Huntsville Hospital credentialing board
- Minimum 3 years full time pediatric RN and/or CRNP experience
- BLS
- PALS
Desired Qualifications
