Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner in Palliative Care is responsible for establishing clinical goals and objectives aligned with departmental aims, while providing administrative oversight, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Duties include assessing patients' physical and psychosocial statuses, collaborating on treatment plans, writing prescriptions, and documenting care effectively. This role entails multitasking in a fast-paced environment, where strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. The ideal candidate will hold an MSN degree and possess a New York Nurse Practitioner license, along with specialized training in hospice and palliative care.
Required Qualifications
- MSN degree required
- Licensed as Nurse Practitioner in the State of New York prior to start date and/or transfer date
Desired Qualifications
- Specialized training and certification through Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
