Job Summary
Conduct focused, in-person physical exams and review electronic medical records for United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. Document exam findings via web portal and complete required questionnaires; you will NOT treat patients or prescribe medication. Perform assessments on an average of 3 to 5 Veterans daily in clinical settings, including mobile clinics or medical offices. Commit to at least two weeks of monthly travel, with Sunday evening departures and Friday or Saturday morning returns, primarily serving incarcerated populations in Virginia with potential nationwide opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- ANY USA State provider License for this position
- current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NCCPA accredited) license
- Must hold a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NCCPA accredited) license
- Must be able to analyze data from the medical records and exam findings to complete the questionnaire and form medical opinions
- Skilled in time management – able to stay on task and meet requirements
- Proficiently use a computer
- Must commit to at least two weeks of travel each month
- Travel to assigned location Sunday evening, return to home city Friday evening or Saturday morning
- Must be able to perform focused, in-person physical exam on each Veteran
- Must be able to electronically document the exam findings required by the VA through the web portal
- Must be able to review medical records electronically through a web portal
- Must be able to perform Independent Medical Assessments
- Must be able to perform Disability Assessments on Veterans
- Must be able to work in a clinical setting (purpose-built mobile clinic or medical office)
Desired Qualifications
- Providers with multiple State licenses preferred
