Job Summary
Evaluate, plan, and provide patient care in consultation with and under direct supervision of the attending Physician. Perform clinical procedures, assessments, history and physicals, and patient plan recommendations while monitoring progress and maintaining medical records. Collaborate with staff and agencies to coordinate optimal care, communicate routinely with supervising physicians, and implement changes in clinical protocols. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SDOs, SOPs, and relevant research. Full-time, exempt position requiring 40 hours weekly with some night and weekend hours.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing or Physician Assistant's Program
- 2+ years outpatient experience as a NP or PA
- Unrestricted and valid license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Texas
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registrations IIIV for the purpose of writing prescriptions
- Current CPR certification
- Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Active board certification appropriate to licensure
- Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instructions to others accurately, sometimes quickly and loudly
- Hearing to perceive the nature of sound with no less than 40 db loss @ Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction; ability to perceive detailed information orally and make fine discriminations in sound
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers
- Ability to exert up to 12 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Minimum standard of visual acuity with or without correction that will enable people in the role to complete administrative and clerical tasks, as well as inspect and analyze
- Ability to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation, and foot traffic
- Ability to handle interruptions often
- Ability to move from one task to another
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in working with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ and other marginalized populations
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Working knowledge of Athena electronic medical record software
- Working knowledge of healthcare insurance
- Bilingual: English and Spanish
