Job Summary
Provide advanced medical care as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant within University Hospitals Urgent Care. Evaluate and manage both adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced urgent care setting, perform procedures (e.g., suturing and abscess drainage), order and interpret diagnostic tests (x-rays, EKGs), and document services comprehensively for appropriate reimbursement. Maintain required certifications (BLS, with ACLS/PALS/NALS as applicable), participate in meetings and professional development, and collaborate with center physicians to deliver high-quality care. Report to the Regional Medical Director and/or Area Clinical Operations Director; support credentialing and adhere to center policies. The role requires an advanced degree, Ohio licensure, DEA registration, DOT certification, and experience in urgent care or emergency medicine. The package includes full-time benefits, CME allowance, PTO, malpractice coverage, and retirement plan, with a 3-day/12-hour weekly schedule for full-time status.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified (or Board Eligible) and Licensed to practice medicine in the state of practice
- Advanced degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program of study
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in accordance with the state of Ohio
- Current DEA registration
- Must be DOT certified
- Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses
- Experience with reading diagnostic studies including x-rays and EKGs
- BLS certification (we will provide this if needed)
- Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by WellStreet Urgent Care
- Experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and other employees
