Job Summary
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant conducts focused, in-person disability assessments for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA disability benefits process, reviews electronic medical records via a secure web portal, and documents examination findings to complete VA forms. Provides medical opinions based on assessments with no treatment or prescribing. Schedule is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, in-person at Richland, WA, with a caseload of 3–5 Veterans per day. Equipment and documentation tools are provided. Requires active NP or PA license and 2,080+ supervised hours, plus comfort with technology and electronic portals, strong analytical, time-management, and empathetic Veteran-focused communication skills. Compensation is salary-based and benefits include health insurance, 401K, and malpractice coverage; on-call duties are not required.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license
- 2,080+ supervised hours
- Comfortable using technology to review records and complete documentation
- Proficient in electronic documentation and web-based portals
