Job Summary
Conduct focused, in-person physical exams and review electronic medical records for 3-5 Veterans daily as part of the VA's disability benefits process. Electronically document exam findings through a web portal while analyzing data to complete questionnaires and form medical opinions. This Independent Medical Assessment role does not involve treating patients, prescribing medication, or making disability determinations. Perform assessments in a clinical setting during Wednesday 9am-5pm shifts with no on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
- Must hold a current, unrestricted NP or PA (NCCPA accredited) license
- Meets the credentialing requirements set forth by the VA
- Proficiently use a computer
- Must be able to analyze data from the medical records and exam findings to complete the questionnaire and form medical opinions
- Skilled in time management, able to stay on task and meet requirements
- Interested in performing Independent Medical Assessments
- Must be available for Wednesday 9am-5pm
- Must be able to perform a focused, in-person physical exam on each Veteran
- Must be able to electronically document the exam findings required by the VA through the web portal
- Must be able to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process
- Must be able to review medical records electronically through a web portal
- Must be able to work in an IN-PERSON position
- Must be able to perform Disability Assessments on Veterans
- Must be able to work 3-5 Veterans per day
