Job Summary
Provide direct patient care as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Midtown Health Care, including examining, diagnosing, and prescribing treatment plans; referring patients to appropriate services (lab, x-ray, specialists) and to supervision when needed; maintaining health records; developing and monitoring patient management plans; ensuring continuity of care and after-hour coverage; educating patients and families; supporting policy development and staff training; participating in health promotion and outreach activities; and performing duties with HIPAA compliance and a focus on teamwork and quality improvement. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are highly desired. Must possess an unrestricted Nebraska APRN license (or eligible) and DEA registration, and meet credentialing requirements. ADA Essential Functions 1-5 are designated duties for this role. This role requires ability to work varied hours, maintain a safe clinical environment, and navigate relevant clinical information systems (EHR, Nexus, and disease reporting). Additional duties may be assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program
- Current unrestricted license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska or eligibility to obtain
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license or ability to obtain
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to obtain credentialing as required by Medicaid, Medicare, and insurances
- Ability to maintain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality and security of patient information
- Ability to document clearly in electronic health records (EHR)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) verbal and written skills highly desired
- Knowledge of quality improvement processes and health care trends
- Ability to travel within duties and drive as needed
