Job Summary
NP/PA collaborates with physicians to diagnose, manage, and treat chronic pain and work-related injuries. Responsibilities include physical examinations, direct patient interactions (in-person and electronic), coordinating care to meet quality benchmarks, and participating in patient care orchestration. Roles may require coverage at nearby clinical sites. Four days per week at the Walnut Creek site (8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday). Performs age-appropriate assessments, 15-minute follow-ups, new patient consults, and a range of office injections (e.g., trigger point, knee, shoulder, bursa). Evaluates need for interventional procedures (epidural, facet, steroid joints, spinal cord stimulator), manages medications (including controlled substances) with monitoring (Urine Toxicology and state PDMP), and collaborates with supervising physicians and other clinicians. Maintains communication with health care providers and departments to ensure operational efficiency and continuity of care. Demonstrates safety, ethical practice, documentation, and adaptability to work at other clinics as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
- California Licensed and Board Certified
- Board Certification within one year for new graduates
- Credentialing requirements: National Certification from AANP/ANCC for NPs or NCCPA for PAs
- PANCE for PAs; ongoing license credentialing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with AED training
- Maintain an NPI and meet Medicare prerequisites for PTAN
- DEA license with ability to prescribe schedule II medications
- Neurology experience preferred
