Job Summary
Plan and organize care to meet individual patient needs, ensuring appropriate clinical resource utilization per protocols and pathways. Monitor cost effectiveness and performance indicators, while evaluating treatment plans for effectiveness and modifying them per clinical standards. Order laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies; differentiate findings and follow protocols for abnormalities. Perform complete health histories, physical examinations, and psychosocial assessments. Collaborate with attending physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to develop therapeutic plans of care that maximize patient preferences and enhance quality outcomes. Provide consultation on therapeutic regimens to nursing staff and facilitate continuity across the continuum of services, including home care and outpatient appointments.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration as Professional Nurse in New York
- Registration as Nurse Practitioner in New York
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Certification by ANCC or Board Certification from other specialty organization that certifies Nurse Practitioners in a clinical area of practice
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Registered Nurse License-NYS
- Nurse Practitioner-NYS
- Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics
