Nurse Practitioner - Ophthalmology Practice

Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations for ocular conditions, vision concerns, and diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy. Perform vision assessments, intraocular pressure testing, pupil dilation, and pre-operative evaluations while monitoring post-operative patients and coordinating safe discharge planning. Manage acute and chronic conditions, provide patient education on diagnoses and treatments, and document encounters in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists and clinical staff to ensure efficient care. Requires a current New Jersey NP license, Master's or Doctoral degree, and proficiency with EMR systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the State of New Jersey
  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Strong knowledge of clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient management
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and patient-care skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Ophthalmology preferred
