Job Summary
Examine patients, conduct sick call and chronic care clinics, and respond to urgent or emergency situations. Diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment plans, and provide ongoing medical and Medication-Assisted Treatment services, including inductions, follow-ups, and dosage titration. Order and interpret laboratory tests, document encounters, and adhere to established policies and formularies. Candidates must have current Nurse Practitioner licensure and CPR certification. Experience with corrections, substance use disorder treatment, and multidisciplinary discharge planning is preferred. This role supports Wellpath's mission to provide compassionate care to underserved and vulnerable individuals.
Required Qualifications
- A graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience
- Prior corrections experience
- The patience and tact to deal with the inmate population
- The ability to work effectively in the corrections environment
- Scheduling flexibility to rotate hours and shifts
- Ability to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment
- Current CPR certification
